Years as a Lineman: 19 years
Steve began his career as a lineman began back in 1989.
He moved to Ohio from Toronto Ontario, and began a new
career with a contractor in Carey Ohio. After 4 years,
he tried his luck with a contractor in Aberdeen North
Carolina for 1 year.
The weather down south was not for him. he went back
to the same contractor in Ohio, and stayed for 2 years.
That’s when he started working for the City of
Bowling Green, and have been there since. In addition,
he is a lineman for the village of Haskins, which is
a small town north of B.G. He is a safety director there
and streets and utilities superintendent.
Through the years he has been sent out of town for
storm work, whether it is in Ohio or surrounding states.
"The greatest challenge to date for me was when
3 from B.G. were sent to Lakeland Florida for Hurricane
Jeanne. To me, I love the challenge, whether it’s
out of town or in our own backyard at 3:00 in the morning."
Steve explained.
